What is a photoluminescent fire action sign?

Photoluminescent fire action signs are safety symbols that glow in the dark to guide people and mitigate risks in an emergency. This type of signage uses ambient light to self-charge and be visible in dark or smoky conditions.

This makes a photoluminescent fire action sign a cost-effective solution that doesn’t need maintenance, wiring or power supplies to work. Here, at Seton, we have Photoluminescent Fire Action Signs for every area of your workplace.

Take a look at our Nite-Glo Fire Action Symbols Signs. These come in handy packs of six, and each sign contains a comprehensive multi-message, taking you through a step-by-step process to activate alarms and evacuate a building.

We also stock Fire Action Signs in our Xtra-Glo range. They will stay illuminated for up to 24 hours and need only five minutes to charge.

Seton’s single-sign options include our ISO 7010-compliant Xtra-Glo Fire Alarm Action Sign. Made from rigid plastic, it is suitable for heavy-duty environments. Just fill in the blanks with the name of your fire safety representative, the evacuation route and assembly point to guide people through the necessary fire emergency actions.

What is the difference between Nite-Glo and Xtra-Glo Photoluminescent Signs?

We supply two photoluminescent materials: Xtra-Glo and Nite-Glo. Nite-Glo (PSPA Class B classification) will remain illuminated for 6 hours. Xtra-Glo (PSPA Class C classification) will remain illuminated for 24 hours. To be fully compliant with ISO 16069 you will need to install Xtra-Glo signage.
