Moldex® makers of respiratory and hearing protection since 1980

Since its inception in 1980 Moldex® has grown to become one of the leading names in respiratory and hearing protection. Moldex® has built its reputation upon constant innovation and were the first company to introduce exhalation valves to FFP dust masks.

In 1986 Moldex® introduced their first line of foam ear plugs, an area of PPE they still are still market leaders in today. Moldex® strives to design and engineer products that not only provide the maximum protection but in addition offer comfort and style to the wearer. Moldex® continues its commitment to manufacture quality products with superior design and technological improvements and all of their products are approved through Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to ISO 9001.

Today Moldex® has production facilities in the US and Europe with sales and distribution centres the world over

Moldex® - A Brief History

In 1980 Mark Magidson sets up Moldex® in California and releases a disposable dust mask as its first product to the US market

5 years later Magidson teams up with Martin Skov and together they open the first Research and Development and Production facility located just outside Stuggart, Germany.

In 1986 Moldex® enter the hearing protection market with sales of foam ear plugs.

1990 see Moldex® revolutionise the respiratory protection market by introducing the first exhalation valve for an FFP dust mask and it quickly becomes popular among users.

1994 see the release of the Series 8000 Half Mask and marks the first step in Moldex®’s new product line protecting against gas, vapour and dust.

In 2000 Moldex® Europe has a management change as Martin Skov’s sons, Roman and Torben take charge.

Highlighting their commitment to the environment Moldex® remove all PVC from its packaging and products in 2007. They are the first manufacturer of PPE products to take this step.

Two years later, as wearers of PPE are becoming ever more design conscious, Moldex® introduce the Waveband®, an ergonomic hearing bud band that is nominated for the prestigious German Design Award

2010 sees Moldex® once again introduce a market first with the Series 9000 Full Face Mask. Its lightweight, frameless construction featuring the Easylock filter system is unique to the market.

In 2013 Moldex® win the iF Product Design Award for the maintenance free CompactMask; a low profile mask due to permanently mounted three dimensional shaped particulate filters.
