Good to know

Cuts, slices, and abrasions are hand injuries that may result in reduced productivity and lost time in the workplace. As such, selecting the appropriate cut resistant hand protection is critical. You need to check the glove’s material, composition, and thickness. To increase hand protection, you need to choose a slash resistant glove based on:

Material - A cut resistant glove material with a higher weight (i.e. ounces per square yard) will offer increased protection. Choose high-performance material such as Kevlar ®, Dyneema®, or composite fibres with stainless steel, fibreglass, or synthetic yarns.

Construction Types - Choose from machine knit, cut-and-sewn textile, and cut-and sewn leather with knit lines, with varying weight and density. These factors add to the cut and abrasion resistance of the glove.

Coating - Gloves can be coated to increase the grip, reduce lacerations, and improve protection. Some coatings are more cut-resistant, whilst others can actually lessen cut resistance because of its very flat surface. You also need to check what substances you will be handling ( i.e. oil or other liquids), as they can have an effect to the type of coating you need.
