Do I need a Health and Safety Law Poster?
If you employ one person or more, you are legally required to display at least one of these posters in each of
your premises. |
 |
Where should I put the Posters?
The poster needs to be displayed in a prominent position where it is noticeable to employees, visitors and contractors. Ideally the posters should be displayed in numerous locations around your premises. The example map shows some of the places you should consider placing the posters. |

 |
Reception
Place the Health & Safety Poster on the back wall so
that visitors and contractors can clearly see when the enter the building. |
 |
Staff Notice Board or Canteen
These are probably the two most viewed places within your premises. Placing a Poster here will draw your attention to it and show your employees that you care for their welfare.
|
 |
Employee Entrance
If employees use a different entrance place a poster at this point. The will then view it everyday when entering and leaving the building. |
 |
Goods In & Despatch
Contractors or delivery people may never visit more than your despatch area. Place the poster at the door to ensure that they can view it. |

employees. If no-one has been appointed or elected by the
employees, and the employer consults directly with the employees,
leave this blank. |
 |
| 2. |
Management Representative |
|
Complete this box with the details of the appointed Health and
Safety person (e.g. Health & Safety Officer). Depending on the
size of the business, this could be the employer. Be sure to include
as much contact information as possible (e.g. phone number,
email, address etc) as this information may be needed in an emergency. |
