Good to know

Work safety gloves are typically used as a means to improve the wearer’s grip, as well as for hand protection. Because of this, one of the most important considerations when selecting a glove is ensuring that it properly fits the wearer.

An ill-fitting glove will be cumbersome for wearers, and cause them to lose dexterity. Tasks become much harder to accomplish, while causing worker fatigue to increase and set in faster.

This leads to the wearer losing efficiency and control, thus increasing the potential for injury. As such, consistency of fit is a crucial safety aspect of grip gloves.

When checking for fit, the individual should put on the glove carefully, and pay attention to certain features. For instance, the fit of each glove digit should be even and in proportion to the actual fingers. One digit should not feel baggy while another feels tight.

The shape should be round and consistent. The wearer should also look at the stitching which should appear even and professionally done.
