Correctly fitting a facepiece and performing preliminary checks.
Determining when facepieces fit poorly.
The purposes and applications of fit testing.
The differences between qualitative and quantitative fit testing methods, and the proper applications of each.
The purposes of fit test exercises.
Preparing facepieces for fit testing.
Performing diagnostic checks (on the facepiece as well as the fit test equipment).
The capabilities as well as the limitations of fit test equipment.
Performing a correct fit test using a specific method.
Awareness of known issues, as well as preventing and/or correct problems encountered during fit testing.
Interpreting test results.
Understanding workplace protection factor, assigned protection factor, fit factor, and nominal protection factors, and identifying what differentiates each from the other.
